The majority of modern websites are designed and built around a content management system (or CMS).
The purpose of using a CMS is primarily to enable website content updates to be quick and easy. A content manager is given an “easy to use” web interface to make changes, negating the need or intervention of web development knowledge.
In recent times many CMS systems have expanded their offering to include a wide range of add-ons and extensions in order to make it straightforward to expand the core functionality of a website, empowering designers and marketers to devise new and enticing ways of attracting visitors, collecting information and offering products and service.
Some web agencies still use and promote their own CMS platforms, typically these have been developed and adapted over time as the need has arisen, they can often be limited in functionality and offer little flexibility to customers. Increasingly, however, web developers are favouring widely used “open source” platforms, such as Joomla, Wordpress & Drupal as well as popular proprietary systems, including Morello and Typo3. Using widely supported tools gives customers flexibility for the future and can often ensure development savings and a wider range of functionality when compared to a “homemade” alternative.
While we specialise in Joomla development, we also offer a broad range of knowledge and skill with virtually all leading open source CMS systems and a number of proprietary platforms too.
