Facebook have announced the introduction of call-to-action buttons to be used on business pages on the social network.
The buttons are designed to take users to the most important areas of a business, with links to destinations both on Facebook or elsewhere. This could be a booking form, a button to an online store, a sign up form or a variety of other options.
A total of seven call to action buttons are being made available by Facebook:
Dollar Shave Club, an online retailer for shaving supplies, has been trialling the buttons already. They claim their ‘Sign Up’ button has helped them achieve “a 2.5x higher conversion rate versus other comparable social placements aimed to drive new user acquisition.” - Brian Kim (Director of Acquisition, Dollar Shave Club).
This new feature will be rolling out worldwide next year, with the US seeing the launch of the buttons in the coming weeks.
