If your Christmas preparations are anything like ours, the tree is up, the presents are wrapped, the Turkey (or nut roast) is ready to go, TV Christmas specials have been earmarked, and you can soon look forward to spending some quality time with friends and family.
Every year, the crew at Blue Frontier gather around to open Secret Santa presents, enjoy a mince pie (or two) and head out to celebrate the occasion with a Christmas feast to finish the season. This year, our Christmas meal was held at Barnett's Barn in Bowerchalke, Wiltshire, a timelessly beautiful restored barn.
During the working day at Blue Frontier HQ, before heading out to Barnett's Barn, the team enjoyed several festive beverages, and staff were welcome to bring along their partners to join in the fun.
After a day of semi-hard grafting, our team and their partners made their way to Barnett’s Barn for a spectacular festive knees-up and dinner. We were greeted with apéritifs and nibbles and then devoured the delightful Christmas dishes prepared for us with glee!
The cuisine at Barnett's Barn mixed traditional roast dishes of Turkey or Beef with modern mouth-watering starters like Salmon and Cheese Soufflé. No matter the palette of everyone attending, it was unanimously agreed that the chocolate dessert was out of this world!
We ended the evening with the brave ones dancing to the funk of DJ Matt Kerley and the Venga Boys of guest DJ, Amanda. The prize for the best-dressed team went to the Techies who went for a semi co-ordinated theme.
In 2010, 10 staff from the Blue Frontier office gathered for a Christmas lunch in the local pub in Netherhampton and on Friday over 100 people (roughly 55 staff and their respective partners) gathered in Bowerchalke.
Avid readers of our blogs will know that Blue Frontier is expanding, and this is set to continue rapidly in 2020. Blue Frontier is closely involved with an assortment of projects spanning several countries - all within the Connected Health sphere.
In a short speech at our Christmas meal, James Fry looked forward to a bright 2020, consisting of collaborating on Health projects - starting in Zambia, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. However, our expansion is certainly not limited to the Health industry and is spread across our various specialisms (from Cyber Security to Marketing).
While we look forward to the next decade and all the exciting possibilities that it brings, Christmas is a good time to appreciate the here and now. It is an opportunity to recharge your batteries, reflect on what has been achieved in the past year, and reconnect with loved ones.
From all of us at Blue Frontier, we sincerely wish you a magical and peaceful Christmas and a wonderful 2020.
