There’s typically a jovial atmosphere in the Blue Frontier offices all year-round and this special colder month was no exception. Blue Frontier kicked off the Christmas celebrations with a long list of fun festive activities for everyone to enjoy. For a few new starters who joined across 2023, this was their first Christmas at the company and introducing them to the Blue Frontier festive traditions was extremely exciting for all involved.
Salisbury was spoilt for choice as we were fortunate enough to enjoy a range of treats approaching the holiday. Our Managing Director shared in the Christmas spirit, making hot buttered whisky paired with biscuit and chocolate tins. Contributions from staff members included warming homemade mulled wine, delicious cakes and Christmas flavoured snacks, in addition to scrumptious mince pies. The offices were especially festive on Christmas Jumper Day, with colourful patterns and hats worn by team members. Our Southampton and Bristol offices enjoyed takeouts, festive drinks, snacks and some games.
The elves were once again busy this year with their gifting operation. Presents this year included a choice of Amazon vouchers, a personalised surprise wrapped under the office Christmas tree, or the option to donate to charity.
Every year, we make our very own Christmas card featuring some of our team members and this year was no exception. A company-personalised version of the game Cluedo (‘Bluedo’) was the theme for this year’s card. A fantastic office layout inspired blueprint for the gameboard really showed off the design team’s creativity. The result was impressive and instantly recognisable, with our staff Bluedo suspects, featuring one of our office dogs, Noodle, as ‘Gremlin’.
Instead of partaking in our weekly Fast Food Friday lunch event, on this special occasion, we overindulged in treats courtesy of our Technical Team Manager. Known as Wiggy’s Festive Baps, a staple in company Christmas tradition, excitement soon spread around the offices when it was announced this year that we would again get to savour Amanda’s cooking. Mouth-watering roast turkey slices, stuffing and bacon with gravy in a bap was yet again a huge success and the scale of the operation did not go unnoticed. If that wasn’t enough, lovely homemade brownies for dessert were passed around the kitchen to much delight. Amanda once again outdid herself, making sure the company was well fed; we extend our thanks for her exceptional effort.
To top off celebrations this year, the Blue Frontier team dressed to the nines for our annual Christmas party. Having hired the top floor of Revolución de Cuba in Southampton, this was the perfect opportunity for people from all branches to meet and catch up over drinks, food and, of course, some dancing! With an open bar combined with a generous spread of Cuban tapas, Blue Frontier once again showed how much staff were valued.
A moving speech from James Fry together with a carefully curated video reel of this year’s highlights, successes and individual achievements was appreciated by all. Individual appearances were often met with whoops and cheers among teams, with laughter all around; particularly from footage reminders of this year’s socials.
Despite the difficult economic climate, Blue Frontier has gone from strength to strength. We have expanded again in 2023 and are looking forward to many more accomplishments in the coming year with a bright, promising future.
The Christmas party is a great opportunity for workers to introduce their plus-one’s to their colleagues, as well as for new staff to meet long-standing employees. Many happy memories were made this year and we eagerly look forward to celebrations in 2024.
We cannot wait for our fast-growing traditions to continue next year. From all of us at Blue Frontier, we wish you a very merry Christmas and the best of luck for the coming year in all your endeavours.
