The spooky season began at Blue Frontier with a visit to Thorpe Park, an ideal location to celebrate Halloween and bond with colleagues. We had the opportunity to experience the UK’s most thrilling rollercoaster rides, creepy mazes, tasty food and drink.
With fear lurking around every corner we set foot into Thorpe Park on the 22nd of October and were greeted by actors dressed up as spine-chilling scarecrows, who amazingly never broke character. We then split up and made our way to some of the rollercoasters including Stealth, Swarm and SAW - The Ride. Thanks to the long Fright Night queues, we got the chance to reconnect as a team, chat away and munch on some sweets.
At the end of a hard week’s work, our team definitely deserved some time to unwind and have a laugh, as well as increasing our heart rates on the adrenaline inducing rides! There were plenty of themed food stalls where you could get doughnuts, German sausages and beer.
Some of the team preferred to enjoy the arcades, whilst others who were craving even more fear, decided to visit the scare maze. Full of horror classics and packed with action, it was the perfect attraction to attend once the sun went down.
We had three brave souls from our team who decided to dress up as characters from the famous TV show Money Heist, while developer Michael decided to dress as a Spartan and then had to endure everyone’s endless questions as to whether he was freezing cold!
Some of us have been to Thorpe Park before but for others, it was their first time and a pleasant surprise. One thing can be said for sure; we had an amazing time and our thirst for heights and adrenaline has been quenched until next year...
At Blue Frontier, we value spending quality time with our colleagues outside of work and support a healthy work-life balance. This Halloween, to mark most of the team being back in the office, we decided to do something different and it really paid off with everyone having a great night out. It was a frightening but fun filled afternoon, where we reached heights of 205ft in just 2.5 seconds (80mph!) but we all managed to get home safe and sound.
If you are keen to join our fantastic team and growing team, don't be scared we don't bite! We are looking to fill a number of roles, so head over to our careers page and you can make the trip to Thorpe Park next year!
