This means that yet again we have been classified as a trustworthy and secure company when it comes to cyber security. We are certified to keep helping other organisations become accredited by developing and implementing policies and procedures within businesses and, more importantly, helping organisations identify vulnerabilities and improve their security controls.
Cyber Essentials is a government-supported scheme that helps businesses protect themselves against potential cyber-attacks, and provides a clear framework of the basic tools and skills an organisation should have in place to ensure its digital safety. The certification offers a focused set of controls, which provide guidance on cyber security for organisations of all sizes, and defines the foundation of cyber security measures.
This year the Cyber Essentials Plus test has been even more rigorous, with a wide variety of vulnerability tests we had to carry out to ensure the organisation is protected from hacking and phishing attacks. We further improved our firewalls, passwords, access control, patch management and our protection from viruses and malware.
The control measures implemented within the scheme protect the organisation from 80% of common cyber threats. These controls involve firewalls, secure configuration, control user access, anti-malware and anti-phishing security.
