We've just enjoyed another year of The Techies celebrating the innovation and entrepreneurship of the IT community in Swindon and Wiltshire. This year we had to celebrate in a different manner, which meant attending the awards evening from the comfort of our own homes on a Zoom call, with goody bags delivered right to our doorsteps! Despite the online event taking place on the second night of Lockdown 2.0, our spirits were high and we hoped for the best.
The competition was impressive but we were confident in our team’s hard work and achievements over the past year. Best Tech Security was one of the last categories to be announced, giving us plenty of time to get excited and build a soaring level of anticipation. It was all worth it in the end when Blue Frontier was announced as the winner. Our Technical Director, Marc Whittingham, and Lead Security Analyst, Brandon Akal, gave an acceptance speech and unveiled the certificate and award that had been hidden away in a sealed box provided by the event organisers.
The award was in recognition of our commitment to providing cyber security services for clients, keeping their systems and data safe. Blue Frontier has increased its cyber security growth and capability exponentially over the past two years. Going from a proof-of-concept idea to a fully functioning and financially profitable, CREST-accredited (Penetration Testing) company within less than 12 months, proves that Blue Frontier not only has the appetite for and acumen for accelerated growth, but also the multifaceted skillset and creative mindset required to meet complex challenges head-on.
In the past 12 months Blue Frontier has achieved the following cyber security accreditations:
In the past 6 months, Blue Frontier has helped two companies achieve their Cyber Essentials accreditation, and has provided successful and accurate penetration testing services to a utilities provider and a health provider.
Here's what our Lead Security Analyst, Brandon Akal, has to say about our success:
“Winning this award serves as vindication that our team and the CREST-accredited processes and procedures that they adhere to are market-leading and now, award-winning! The team’s dedication to ensuring the delivery of highly polished and accurate products, and passion for securing their customers’ information ecosystems, enabled us to win this award. This is truly a great honour for Blue Frontier and will certainly aid our unprecedented growth and product delivery.”
We were also announced as a finalist in the Using Tech to Transform Business category, which is a great credit to our technical support and infrastructure teams and their continued commitment to delivering an exceptional service for our clients. Transforming businesses with the help of technology has been on our agenda since the company was founded, and remains at the core of our business to this day. Last year we helped one of our clients with migrating physical IT information systems and assets into a cloud-hosted, virtualized environment. It was this project that earned us our place as a finalist in this year's Techie Awards.
We are proud to be a part of this innovative and talented region and to have the opportunity to take part in this prestigious awards ceremony.
We would like to congratulate all the other winners and finalists and say a big thank you to all of the sponsors for making the night impossible to forget. The organisers did a fantastic job and managed to pull off a truly enjoyable evening, despite all of the challenges thrown at them with lockdown. They really couldn't have done a better job and the evening was a huge success! We look forward to taking part again next year.
