We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded a Certificate of Excellence prize at the 2025 Public Sector Transformation Awards. We were recognised for the exemplary standard of the work we delivered to promote Sussex Police's ‘StreetSafe’ initiative, a tool for individuals to report locations in their local area where they feel unsafe.

In spring 2024, we conceptualised and executed a campaign aimed at encouraging and engaging local Sussex residents, predominantly young women aged 16-24. The end-to-end campaign brought together our production and paid ads teams, taking it from concept to delivery. It ran for 30 days across April 2024, with 6 weeks of preparation time before it.

The video concept looked to empower local communities to help direct and spotlight areas of concern for the police and council’s attention. Once approved, the production team created an impactful shot plan. They then started to source actors to participate in the video and identified suitable filming locations. Once filming finished, the campaign ran on Snapchat and Meta (Instagram and Facebook), which are predominantly for younger audiences, with two separate builds to target both brand awareness and traffic.

The paid ads resulted in 396k impressions from the campaign’s Meta ad, 2.3k link clicks from Meta ads in 1 month, and a 1k+ increase in ‘StreetSafe’ reports across this period. The organisation acquired 13% of all ‘StreetSafe’ reports nationally across 43 participating police forces. With more data and insight available, Sussex Police were able to gain a greater understanding of the local public spaces that required attention. Due to the campaign’s success, it ran for another 30 days across July-August 2024.

Sammy-Jo Wilsher, Senior Marketing Manager, said:

“It is fantastic for Blue Frontier and the team involved to have been recognised for this project. It was a pleasure to work on this campaign with Sussex Police. Our team were highly motivated to raise awareness of the StreetSafe tool to as many people as possible in the target demographic, understanding the importance of the reports and the positive real world impact this information could have on the community and safety in Sussex.”

Having taken place on Wednesday 5th March, the Public Sector Transformation Awards act as an opportunity to celebrate and share the most innovative practice in transforming local public services.
