It’s coming up to the 1-year anniversary of Blue Frontier opening our Southampton office, and what a year it has been! We opened the doors to our new and fully renovated office on the 6th September 2018 with a champagne and strawberries evening reception.
At the time we had only 3 Southampton employees to fill up the desks, with a few more hot-desking from our Salisbury office every now and again. Today we have 16 permanent Southampton employees, ranging in different skills from Web Design, Development, Digital Marketing and Technical Support.
The original 3 amigos:
We still have space for up to 30 team members in full and are currently recruiting with some amazing job opportunities available, to continue our end to end service in digital and technical IT services.
The current Southampton Dream Team:
Southampton is a vibrant city with so much going on, and we are lucky enough to be located right at the heart of the city in the White Building. The views from our 8th-floor office span the city offering up great views over parks, townhouses and out to the harbour.
Since settling into Southampton, we have been a part of some exciting local events, such as sponsoring GO! Southampton's annual Seaside in the Square. This is where an urban beach is brought to the city, with real sand, deckchairs, live music, events and activities for all ages. Blue Frontier even provided a mechanical surfboard one day, for a super fun surfing competition, where one lucky winner got to win an Amazon Echo.
Since January we have been hosting a number of Digital Workshops in association with Go! Southampton, to help local businesses improve their online presence. Ranging from boosting online presence, SEO, Google Analytics, Social Media and video! These are all free events, held in local coffee shops, bistros and co-working spaces. Keep a lookout on our Facebook page to see when the next workshop will be.
We are looking forward to being involved in many more local events in the coming year, supporting businesses to become more digitally savvy and meeting new clients in the Southampton area. We love being a part of the Southampton community, there is such a buzz about the city and so much going on, and Blue Frontier love being situated in the centre of this vibrant neighbourhood.
Amy Godfrey-Bawden joined the Blue Frontier Southampton office in April 2019, as a Digital Marketer.
“I love how well-equipped the Southampton office is for holding meetings, catering for quiet discussion and even social gatherings at lunch time. The overall layout promotes productivity and the beautiful colours and features of the office make it a pleasure to spend time working in.
The atmosphere is friendly and respectful, with plenty of opportunity to learn from each other and discuss projects. We have our own little family here, and I’m pleased to say that everybody is lovely!”
James Roberts has been working for Blue Frontier in the Southampton office since December 2018 and focuses on Content Creation.
“The office in Southampton has some awesome views of the city, and so up on the eighth floor we can see for miles which is pretty cool. The office has been kitted out to a really high spec so it makes it a great place to work with a cool break out space where we often all have lunch together.
Personally, as I cycle to work the facilities are great here with a proper storage space for my bike and shower facilities, it makes my daily commute enjoyable and good for the environment too. Being in a big city like Southampton as well means there is plenty of choice for lunch, bars to go to after work and convenient if you need the shops.
The atmosphere is really chilled, and as the numbers grow it is nice to talk to other people from different teams and hear about what they are working on. We have a good mix of team members so there is always help on hand should you have any questions.”
